Ms. Crabapple, a kindergarten teacher, was watching the children play during recess. She came across Billy, who was making ugly faces at the other children and causing quite a stir.
"Billy," Ms. Crabapple said, "You ought not make such faces at the other children. You know, when I was your age, I used to do that sometimes. too. My mother warned me that if you make such hideous faces, it might stick, and you could look that way for the rest of your life."
Billy looked up at his teacher, regarded her sincerely for a moment, and said, "Well, you can't say they didn't warn you."
